The IMPA factory is one of the first of a large movement of 'recovered factories' that emerged as a response to the economic crisis that pushed many businesses to bankruptcy and threatened the jobs of thousands of workers. Through images and anecdotes spread out between the rusty machines, this short film seeks the human face and the deepest dimensions of the recovery.

THE LAYERS OF A BAKER

PANADERO

“The Layers of a Baker” is a short, character-driven documentary about the life of a small business owner in Washington Heights, NYC, as he struggles to keep his business afloat. In this process, Marcos, a baker, has lost his family and home, now he sleeps in a room within the same shop, and many times he takes refuge in alcohol. Marcos has gradually entered a vicious circle that has not allowed him to change this lifestyle.

VIRUS

Two manuscripts found during the COVID-19 quarantine among the belongings of a dead father are used by his daughter to try to reconstruct the past and weave hypotheses about what she will never know. Another virus involved, AIDS, runs through a story loaded with suspense and intrigue. Languages, bodies accommodating, pandemics, capitalism, wars and the resistance of vulnerable bodies to attacks and invasions of real or symbolic viruses are the common thread of this documentary story.
