SYNOPSIS
A Korean family decides to look for new opportunities and find ways of grieving for what they have lost on the way: Lila, a young Korean-Argentinean girl, navigates the contradictions of her identity and tries to find her place in the world. Cecilia Kang
Cecilia Kang is a Buenos Aires–based director whose documentary work interrogates the cultural dualism she experiences as a Korean-Argentinian. Her feature My Last Failure (Mi último fracaso, 2016) opened that inquiry, which she extended in A Boat Departed From Me Taking Me Away (Partió de mí un barco llevándome, 2023), winner of both the Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival. Her filmography also includes the short films Bicicletas (2018) and Videojuegos (2015).
Cecilia Kang es una directora porteña cuyo trabajo documental indaga en el dualismo cultural que vive como coreano-argentina. Ese recorrido comenzó con su largometraje Mi último fracaso (2016) y continuó en Partió de mí un barco llevándome (2023), ganadora del Premio Especial del Jurado y del Premio del Público en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Mar del Plata. Su filmografía incluye también los cortometrajes Bicicletas (2018) y Videojuegos (2015).
