SYNOPSIS

The eruption of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano in 1985 was one of the greatest tragedies in Colombian history, killing more than 23,000 people and almost completely destroying the town of Armero. Jenifer was one of the many children who survived and was adopted, arriving in Valladolid when she was only one and a half years old. At the age of 30, motivated by the possibility that her biological mother might still be alive, she decided to investigate her roots. This research took her back to her homeland, on a journey that she captured in images. The film speaks of a universal experience: the diaspora of adoptees around the world. People who, driven by hope and the search for answers, never stop chasing the ghosts, literal and symbolic, of their past.
