Professor Jerry Carlson (Chair of Media and Communication Arts, The City College of New York), Professor Cheryl Sterling (Director of the Black Studies Program, The City College of New York) and filmmakers Juan Andres Arango (La Playa D.C), Miquel Galofre (Songs of Redemption), take a look at the films representing various perspectives on African descendants in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The documentary Guadalupe No Passport Needed by Carmen Alarcón, follows the Guadalupe Torch Run, a marathon pilgrimage that thousands of people make annually from Mexico City to New York. A journey that goes beyond faith and religion, for it highlights the perilous obstacles faced by Mexicans seeking better economic conditions in the U.S. The director will be present for a dialogue with Joel Magallán, Director of Tepeyac Asociation and Jordan Wells, New York Civil Rights Union.
