162 CITIZENS IN TRUMP COUNTRY (2017)

"In 2016 I recorded events at the Mardi Gras celebration in Mobile, Alabama. "162 Citizens in Trump Country" was made scanning a crowd from the street with a small hand held slow motion camera. The Mardi Gras at Mobile was the first held in the U.S. Unlike the overtly drunk celebration in New Orleans, this Mardi Gras is more of a family event. The recordings were slowed in editing by a factor of 5."

TUPIANAS (2016)

Composed of Super 8 footage filmed in many different places in Brazil during the 70s, "Tupianas" is a reflection on the idea of "Tupi," the great native nation of inhabitants who lived in the vast solar territory, before the white men arrived- the Tupis-Gauranis called it "Pindorama" (land of the palm trees). The films elaborates a nonlinear narrative with a collage of "anthropophagic images," presenting the boy and space as topology of desires, dreams, and a convulsive social device of change.
